Ali's journey in health care began shortly after high school, when she earned her CENA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification. At the time, she chose not to pursue a medical career—but little did she know how valuable that early experience would become in shaping her future.

In 1998, Ali's grandmother’s dementia progressed to the point where she needed more hands-on care. Her grandparents moved closer to family, and Ali, alongside her mother, became one of her grandmother’s primary caregivers. Though informal, this marked Ali’s first real experience with home health care. During this time, she witnessed firsthand the challenges of dementia and the emotional and physical toll it takes on both the individual and their loved ones.

After her grandmother passed away in 2000, Ali began working with a home health agency affiliated with a local hospital. Her responsibilities included helping clients with grocery shopping, transportation to medical appointments, meal preparation, housekeeping, and personal care. During this time, she also renewed her CENA certification. Ali remained in this role for 13 years, building deep connections and experience.

In 2016, the hospital’s Home Health division merged with the local senior center. Ali continued serving her clients for another five years, offering support with household chores, errands, and daily personal needs.

Alongside her home health work, Ali also spent three years at an assisted living facility. For the first two years, she worked as a Resident Care Aide, helping residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), supporting memory care, and assisting with life enrichment activities. In her third year, she transitioned to working in the kitchen, where she prepared and served meals to all residents.

In 2022, Ali began working at her local hospital, where she delivered meals to patients throughout the building. In 2024, transitioned into work in the emergency room—a role that allows her to continue learning and growing her knowledge of medicine and patient care.

Through her years of experience—spanning home health, assisted living, and hospital care—Ali has gained valuable insight into the needs and challenges of those she serves. At Adoring Hands, our goal is to share that knowledge with you, so you can feel confident and capable in your caregiving journey.
